  • How to stop split ends? Ends of hair really thick?

Posted by admin on October 31st, 2009 and filed under how to cut my hair | 7 Comments »

I got my hair cut about a month ago, and the ends of hair is thicker than the rest of my hair?
Will it eventually thin out or how do I need to go to the hairdressers again to think it out?

Plus, what are some good products to fix split ends?
I don’t straighten my hair much, only once a week if I do.
But my split ends seem to get worse ;l

The only thing that will completely fix the split ends is to cut them off. To keep your hair healthy and prevent product buildup, rinse it with an apple cider vinegar solution (1-2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar in 1 cup of warm water) about once per week when you wash your hair; leave the solution in your hair for about a minute or two then shampoo and condition as you normally do.

Another thing that will nicely condition hear and leave it shiny is beer. After you wash your hair, apply a few tablespoons of FLAT beer to your hair and let it sit for a minute or two. Then rinse and style as usual.

To thin out the ends, ask for a razor cut. If the hairdresser does it right, it will look very nice. If you feel comfortable, you can even do it yourself. Look for youtube videos on razor cutting the hair – they have some really good descriptive videos.

yeeauh try cutting them. i have the opposite problem. my ends are too thin. anyways for the split end thing i would use a heat protectant and focus on the ends. and when you shampoo and condition focus on the ends. you could also get a split end mender. bed head has a good one. its in a pink bottle. check it out(:

i don’t know exactly what stops split ends, but i have never had any in my life. i wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner everyday. i usually switch up the products i use. first i’ll get something like aussie then when the shampoo and conditioner runs out i’ll get pantene, garnier, tresemme, bed head, vive pro, dove, or some brand like that. a brand i really like is rusk, but it is expensive and hard to find. make sure your hair is always hydrated enough. get a leave in conditioner and try out new products at the store to see if anything else helps.

It sounds to me like you need to switch your shampoo and conditioner. One specialising in repairing split ends would be ideal. It would mean you dont have to foot the bill of hairdressers but can also keep the style it is currently in.

May I reccomend the Oriflame HairX Repair Therapy Range?

The ONLY way to fix split ends is a trim. If you don’t, The split in the hair will continue up the hair strand and break off. There is nothing that will repair it.
