I have longish wavy hair and have seen these clippers sets by Wahl, Nicky Clarke etc.Will these be good enough to cut longish hair or would it be a disaster?

generally you use clippers to cut your hair very short…..if your hair is long you should trim it with scissors first…and then go with the clippers…….

yes, but you use a comb and use the razor against them, like a barber does with the scissors.
