  • using a razor or scissors to cut your own hair?

Posted by admin on November 2nd, 2009 and filed under cut my own hair | 2 Comments »

i normally get my hair cut professionally and they use a razor. i’ve started trimming my own bangs however using scissors but can’t seem to achieve the same look, where can i purchase a razor (and which kind do i get?) to cut my hair and are they easy to use or should i just stick with scissors?

If you have really sharp scissors, you can use that to razor your bangs. That technique is the easiest when trying to texture a side bang, the kind that is slanted, not straight across. If you want to buy a razor, they sell them at walmart, rite aid, any store that has a lot of school supplies. The exacto blades are the best.

They just use a normal razor. But that’s only to get the thickness out of the hair, to make it easier to cut.

It depends… it can go REALLY wrong, by actually tearing your hair and you will end up with a really short bit. I’d practice on a doll or something before you do it on your own hair.
