I have a couple of friends who have serious reservations about going to a hairdresser for a hair cut. They are both black women who have had problems in the past communicating to hairdressers that their hair must be dry when cut. Wetting the hair causes the hair to be cut unevenly and to fuzz, rendering the look even more uneven. They have both had this issue with hairdressers, regardless of the hairdresser’s race. How can these clients be sure that their request is heard and respected, and that the instructions are followed?

They have to straighten out all the curls when it is dry to see if it is even! Every hairdresser should know that (especially when working with black hair because of the curl)

Ask them to cut it while it is dry, explain the reasons why, and if they won’t do it, say you will just go somewhere else! Hairdressers hate losing business!!

I have limited hairdressing skills and my girlfriend wants to go super short. She has nice long shiny hair liek you see on some of the commercials, but she wants a short and slick style now with a buzzed back. She wants to go to the high school dance with me like this in a red dress and matching red gloves. She told me that she wants to look like Christy Turlington in an issue of Vogue with finger waves what is to be her short gelled hair. I tried to find some cutting instructions and supplies online, but coul only find the equipment. I even suggested that she leave her hair as it is or just go to a salon, but she thinks it would be sexy if i cut it when we’re both naked before taking a shower together. Please, someone help me out?
