I got sick of leaving a trail of hair behind me, so I wrote this song and made this video. And the rest is hair-story! Get it? Like history? But with hair? Combined into one word? You see? You can hear the song on my MySpace page, at the URL above.

I don’t have the money to go to the hair cutting place… And I want to cut my own hair. Something I’ve never done before.
Any tips on what to do. I’m just going to use a pair of scissors and maybe a brush. Should it be wet? Dry? Straightened?
Wet to use scissors, dry for a buzzer. Two mirrors to see the back. Oh, by the way, it is a really bad idea to cut your own hair. Ask a friend or family member.
I need a mirror that stands up on it’s own because I need both of my hands to cut my hair one for the clippers the other for the comb.
go to lowes or homeless depot
they have the ones that screw into the wall and extend out so you can do your hair
I’ve been needing a haircut for a long time so i took matters into my own hands, and i didn’t do too bad i might add. How do I cut my hair for the male shag? (I cut my own hair) Where do I stop, that sort of thing.
I would really appreciate step-by-step instructions. Thanks!
the easiest way to tell you is hold it straight up on top and straight out on back and sides…hope this helps
I have about shoulder length hair and its super thick. I’m really into to doing my own hair. I want to try out a pixie cut. I just don’t want to mess up overly huge. Ive looked at videos and pics and websites but none are basic. Any advice you have I will take details are good.
Start by wetting your hair then section off you hair. You start cutting in the from and work your way to the back. Keep in mind that you should cut it a little longer when its wet (you can always go shorter later). Start by cutting your bangs just above your eye level. Comb down the sides and cut just below the ear level. The back will be the most difficult. But comb it down and cut slowly to about one and a half to two inches in length. Once you have established the initial length you want. take down one section at a time cut into layers of about two inches in length. Blow dry and then trim up to the length you want. it should be relatively easy just take your time.
I’m 17 and have a buzzcut. Instead of having to go to the salon every 3 weeks should i just buzz it myself? I have had one for a while so I think i know how to do it and i also have teh clippers. So should i just cut my own hair from now on?
I don’t see why not. If you know what you are doing you could be saving yourself time and money. Or if you want to be sure go to the salon one more time and ask how it is done and pay close attention so you know for sure.
If I were you I’d just do it myself. It’s pretty hard to mess up a buzzcut.
I want to be able to cut my own hair to save myself some money ($10 a week). I know its hard to do but is there a suggested hair style I should start with?
I have to say this….
The last five times my friends tried to ‘even out’ their hair on their own they wound up coming to find me to fix it, so I wouldn’t even try it. Even doing an even cut all around can be very tricky, although I do have one friend who manages to do it himself.
My suggestion would be to maybe change around your style. Talk to your hairdresser and ask them about a new style that you won’t have to come back every week for. That way you can maybe go to get your hair cut every two or three weeks and save money that way. Good luck

I’d like to know how to cut my own hair to save myself money and time. I am a guy with mid-length hair and wanting to get short hair (not shaved). I know people that do it without scissors and anything else besides and electric shaver, and it turns out just fine. An electric shaver is all I have and plan to use. If anyone could give me instructions or link me to a site where I can get some (preferably step by step, picture illustrated instructions), I’d greatly appreciate it.
Without instructions, I was just planning to set my shaver to about the 5th setting and just run it all through my hair in every direction. Dont know if that would look ok or not.
Thanks.
